Over the past 17 years, I have crafted a distinguished career as a tattoo artist, evolving from the humble beginnings of an apprenticeship under the watchful eyes of Paul Bennit and Hilly Dudsen. During my early days, I honed my foundational skills by sweeping floors, preparing lunch for my teachers, and immersing myself in creating flash designs, making stencils, and even crafting traditinal needles—tasks that grounded me in the discipline and artistry of tattooing. Guided by Paul, a master in Japanese tattoo art, I developed a profound respect and skill set that still influences my work today. Although my focus has shifted to specializing in black and grey realism and portraits, the vibrancy and complexity of Japanese tattooing continue to inspire elements of my designs, along with the occasional Polynesian piece, a nod to the styles that were more prevalent when I began my career. My journey through the tattooing world has taken me across various towns—from Milton Keynes to Bedford, and from Northampton to Leighton Buzzard. Each location has contributed to my growth and style, culminating in the opening of my own tattoo studio in Apsley, Hemel Hempstead. This studio is not just a workplace but a canvas where I express my passion for tattooing and where every tattlo reflects my dedication. Today, I continue to cherish the lessons learned from my early days while embracing the evolution of my personal style. My commitment to my craft is evident in every tattoo I create, with countless hours and into the early hours sometimes, perfecting designs, aiming always to demonstrate that love through my artwork. Tattooing is not just my profession; it’s a passion that I am fortunate to live out every day.
